ALPFA
RUTGERS - NEW BRUNSWICK
A Community For Us, By Us
OUR
FOCUS
Growing the ALPFAmilia
"ALPFAmilia" is a play on words that originated from the Spanish word for "family" which is "familia." ALPFA National coined the term to describe the special bond our members and alumni share, it is an important aspect of what makes our organization unique.
Diversity and Inclusivity
We pride ourselves on the diversity of our community, including background, majors, and experience. We are focused on the Latinx and Black population at Rutgers University, however, we welcome allies to join our initative.
Interpersonal Development
Our events inspire our members to think critically about their personal development. We want our members to create change, break barriers, and recognize their true value. This cannot be done without tieing the world we live in into our events, and recognizing that while change is made, there is still a long way to go.
Professional Development
Our organization prepares members for the workplace with professionally tailored workshops and events. We cover a variety of topics from resume reviews, workplace culture, and to how to dress appropriately on your first day.
Community Impact
Our impact goes beyond Rutgers Business School and we aim to contribute and assist the greater communities of Rutgers University, the town of New Brunswick, the state of New Jersey, and ultimately, ALPFA National.
Career Guidance
Members at any level of their college careers can gain valuable experiences within ALPFA RU NB. Our wide range of events, Alumni members, and our bigger ALPFAmilia across NJ and NY all serve as support channels, mentors, and even sponsors. Together, we work to help our members write their individual paths and excel.

ABOUT US
The Association of Latino Professionals for America (ALPFA) is the largest campus-led Latino organization in the country. Established in Los Angeles in 1972, ALPFA carries the mission of empowering and developing Latino men and women as leaders of character for the nation in every sector of the global economy.
ALPFA Rutgers New Brunswick was charted at Rutgers University-New Brunswick in 2008. As of 2017, we have more than quadrupled in size, impact, and opportunities to offer our members.
As a Student Chapter of ALPFA, we aim to provide Rutgers Business Students and beyond the opportunity to connect with each other and industry-leading companies. Our members gain direct exposure to recruiters and program leaders who assist them in securing internships, co-ops, full-time offers, and more.
Our members also gain special access to exciting social events and the opportunity to bond within our ALPFAmilia, a unique term coined by ALPFA to describe the unity ALPFA members nationwide share.
ALPFA serves more than 95,000+ professional and student members across the country at the National level, and our members gain exclusive access to most of the tri-state area's Professional and Student Chapters. ALPFA RU NB has direct access to hundreds of student members and professionals in New Jersey and New York alone.
As an organization, we aim to be as inclusive as possible and welcome members from any background and any school within the Rutgers University-New Brunswick campus.
Equity of opportunity is not the same as equity of responsibility. With increased ability comes increased responsibility, and let there be no doubt the Latinx community has amazing ability so that means we have a responsibility to continue to lead. We are meant to take on the challenges of this world. And not just the easy ones, but the hard ones because together we will achieve greatness. Together now and foereger, we have developed a bond that will help us all continue to rise up, as a community, as a family, and as the ALPFAmilia we will inspire ambition and elevate impact.
